Volunteers

Volunteers at Kadina Memorial School assist in the classroom, canteen, library, grounds, and are members of Parents and Friends and the Governing Council.

Their time, work and expertise is greatly valued by students and staff.

To ensure a child safe environment and to comply with Department for Education (DfE) guidelines Kadina Memorial offers a Volunteer Induction session during the year. The session covers DfE requirements in regards to RAN training for volunteers, Protective Behaviours and provides information on child related screening and induction requirements at our school.

Screening Changes for volunteers:

The DfE screening policy requires volunteers to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC). For more information about a WWCC please visit the School’s Front Office or phone 8821 0100.

Screening will still apply to all DfE employees; volunteers working with Families SA or children with disabilities; and people (including parents or guardians) attending overnight camps, school sleepovers and homestays.

As has always been the case, a screening is not needed to attend single events or activities at our school. These include concerts, fundraisers, swimming week or sports day.

If you have any questions about screening or volunteering, please speak with the Business Manager.
