House Captains and Vice Captains are elected on an annual basis for each of our houses – Chandler, Heath, Rose and Southwood.

House Captains (male and female) and Vice Captains (male and female) for Primary, Middle and Senior School are elected in Term 4 ready for the School’s busy annual Sports Day program in Term 1 the following year. To be considered for House Captaincy, nominated students present a brief speech to their peers as to why they would be a good candidate, making reference to the values of Opportunity, Respect and Excellence.

The purpose of our process is to elect students who are willing and able to:

  • Be good role models by upholding our school values
  • Give support to fellow students and foster leadership skills and opportunities
  • Represent students at meeting
  • Work with staff to make house activities successful

All Year 10-12 students are eligible for the position of Senior House Captain and/or Vice Captain. All Year 7-9 students are eligible for the position of Middle School House Captain and/or Vice Captain. All Year 6 and 5 students are eligible for the position of Primary House Captain and/or Vice Captain.

Each sub-school House votes for their preferred candidate.  Successful students are inducted and receive a badge of office at the Term 1 R-12 Assembly.

The four Houses at KMS – Heath, Rose, Chandler and Southwood –  have an historic link to Kadina Memorial High School or Kadina Primary School prior to the amalgamation in 2013.
