Year 11 Road Awareness Program

It was honest, confronting and timely.

The message was clear:  ‘Will you be a responsible driver?’

The answer:  ‘You get to choose the risk but you don’t get to choose the consequence.’

The reality, not to mention the responsibility, of all road users was brought home by road crash survivor Eli, who gave a harrowing account of how his choices in life as a teenage driver led to the one he lives today – an acquired brain injury, and loss of independence, self-esteem and  future dreams.

Thank you to the Road Awareness Program’s Brad from the Metropolitan Fire Service and Eli for sharing their stories, sad statistics, reminders, advice and life-long good driving practices.
