Kadina Primary School (KPS), located on the current KMS site at Doswell Terrace, was declared open on December 9, 1879 during the copper mining era.<\/p>\n
A history book titled ‘If only the walls could talk’, compiled by former staff member\u00a0Ruth Grosser and edited by Rosemary Cock,\u00a0provides a comprehensive timeline of\u00a0Kadina Primary School’s history.<\/p>\n
Initially\u00a0KPS\u00a0was built to cater for 250 students,\u00a0with 360 pupils enrolling in its first year in 1879.\u00a0 At the\u00a0height of\u00a0the mining boom it’s\u00a0reported there were about 700 students at the school.<\/p>\n
‘If only the walls could talk’ documents\u00a0each decade at\u00a0Kadina Primary School, until its final day on Friday December 14, 2012.<\/p>\n
