Welcome to Kadina Memorial School.

Our R-12 school began in 2013 following the amalgamation of Kadina Primary School and Kadina Memorial High School. We inherited a rich heritage and culture from both education sites. Our challenge is to ensure we continue to build on the existing traditions of these sites to support all students, using innovative learning practices to become powerful learners and achieve our full potential as successful and valued members of the community.

Kadina Memorial School is also the only ‘Memorial’ school in South Australia as a lasting tribute to the service women and men who served in the armed forces.

The most important people in our school are the students. KMS is the largest school outside of metropolitan Adelaide.  It is always heartening to see younger students interacting with their older peers through buddy class, student council and general play.  We call this R-12ness and it provides our student population with life-long skills of communicating with others, connecting to the world around them and being tolerant.  Students continue to show they are young people who are willing to take a chance and work hard to develop knowledge and skills that will support their future opportunities and their ability to participate and relate to our global world.

Our site priorities are Literacy, Numeracy, Optimism and Resilience, while also being an integral part of our community, which can be viewed in our Kadina Memorial Site Improvement Plan and the Annual Report.

Kadina Memorial School is fortunate to have a committed, passionate group of teaching and non-teaching staff who take pride in providing a safe and secure learning environment, with a full range of dynamic and challenging academic and extracurricular programs.

We have a great group of parents who support Kadina Memorial in many valued ways. We always welcome parental support and offer Volunteer Training Sessions throughout the year.  You may wish to assist us by working in the canteen, Mentoring, listening to students read, working at sports day and other school events or being involved in our Parent Club or the KMS Governing Council.

The partnership between school, parents and students is vital in achieving successful outcomes and we invite you to work with us in aiming for success for your child.

As a parent you can start the pathway to success by encouraging your child to:

  • attend school every day except if they are sick
  • talk with their teachers or relevant school leaders if they have any problems
  • respect the rights of teachers to teach and other students to learn
  • complete all set tasks including homework
  • organised, with equipment and books required
  • be positive and do the best they can, through determination and persistence

We welcome you to our school web site and encourage you to make contact with us directly.
